Overview

Lincoln MKX is revamped considerably with freshened styling, more power, a host of new features and a more luxurious interior for the 2012 model year. The Lincoln MKX is a five-passenger crossover SUV available in a single well equipped trim level. A whole lot of standard features, sufficient passenger space, a comfortable, quiet ride and innovative technology are the hallmarks of the 2012 Lincoln MKX. It features the first application of industry-exclusive MyLincoln Touch driver connect technology, which creates a whole new way for customers to interact with digital and vehicle technology.

Power and performance

The new standard 3.7-liter V6 engine delivers best-in-class power and fuel economy. The 2012 Lincoln MKX is rated at 305 horsepower best among V6 competitors and 40 more than the outgoing product - with improved, best-in-class fuel economy. This engine is mated to a six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission. It delivers EPA-estimated 19 mpg in city and 26 mpg on the highway, an increase of 1 mpg in each category.

Body and styling

The exterior of the Lincoln MKX is highlighted by the modern, flowing exterior design, split-wing grille, body-side bright work and new treatments for tail lamps and exhaust tips while the all-new interior features more luxurious materials and attention to detail. The standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition/entry, the MyKey system through which owners can limit the vehicle's top speed and radio volume, a power lift gate, dual-zone automatic climate control, MyLincoln Touch and Sync electronics interface systems (includes Bluetooth and iPod interface), heated and ventilated power front seats, leather seats, driver memory functions, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column and a 10-speaker stereo with a CD player, satellite radio, USB/iPod/auxiliary audio jacks and an SD card reader. There are 32.3 cubic feet of available cargo space behind the back seats.

Safety Features

The standard safety features of the Lincoln MKX include AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. A blind spot warning system is optional.
